Who am I?
Question of the century, I know, but let’s start small.
But what do I do?
I am a UX designer and writer who uses their experience from an iterative performance environment to empathise with people and give my “audience” what they want.
As you may have guessed from the photos above, I used to be a professional performer.
This has given me:
Presentation Skills
I’m definitely not shy in front of a crowd. I’ve danced, sung and acted in front of audiences on all 5 continents. In a more official capacity I acted as the Ensemble Representative which required many speaking duties
Collaboration Skills
Working with various artistic and technical departments to achieve a goal, ie. an awesome show, has honed these skills. I also tended more towards multi-disciplinary teams for my own projects and know how to work and communicate across disciplines
Communication & Leadership Skills
Creating my own works and running my own projects gave me good experience managing people from different disciplines. I also lead my colleagues in warm-up classes and conducted rehearsals during my dance tenure
…and an eye for the artistic which I am now channelling into UX Design, UX Writing and Product Design.
Photography is also a large passion of mine and I warmly invite you to have a look around my gallery to see the stories I paint with my lens.
The English language (along with learning new languages) is another a passion of mine and as such I’m writing a novel on the side for fun. Two books down, currently working on the third and will start looking for publishers at some point.
Zum Thema Sprachen: ich kann auch relativ gut Deutsch sprechen (habe meine C1 Prüfung im April 2021 bestanden).
What are the most important things to know?
I live for challenges.
I want to push my limits, improve and be the best possible version of myself
I like to contribute my thoughts and opinions.
Honest but considerate communication is key to making the best product possible and I will gladly provide this
Fairness, respect and integrity.
Feeling part of a trusted team will give me all the motivation I need to do my best work
As for….
Well. The dad-jokes are strong with me…. This stems from my belief that humour is the best medium through which to move an idea. You remember things or people better when they delight you or make you laugh and I bring this approach to any project I do, whether it’s UX, photography or writing.
